Wen Mao, Ph.D, CEO
Wen received her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Peking University, a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Southern California as well as a master's degree in regulatory science from University of Southern California. She also received the Excellent Eye Care Research Award and Academic Scholarship from the National Eye Institute in 2008. Wen spent 6 years of at Abbott's US headquarters, leading the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring products in an end to end full lifecycle management. The product has been successfully marketed in Europe, the United States, China, Japan, Canada, Australia and Brazil. As the director of the precision medicine panel, Wen participated in the globalization and implementation of many precision medicine projects when she was working at the World Economic Forum(Davos Forum). In 2020, she was awarded to the prize of "Entrepreneurship Nanjing". In 2021, she was recognized as "the innovative and entrepreneurial talents" in Jiangsu Province.
Yuyan Zhang, CTO
With a bachelor's degree from Zhejiang University and a master's degree from Tianjin University, Yuyan has over 13 years' experience in the research, design, development and executive management of life-supporting medical devices. He has developed or contributed to the development of over 15 innovative medical products, including radiation, respiratory, anesthesia and extracorporeal life support systems of which the global installed base has been more than 50,000 units. With extensive experience in reliability engineering, technical risk management and field investigation, he is responsible for research and development for the Novlead technology. Prior to joining Novlead, Yuyan held leadership position of system engineering at GE Healthcare and Hengrui Medical.
Luke Cao, CBO
Previously as a surgeon, Luke was one of the first to fight against the SARS epidemic, and participated in the medical work of the Doctors Without Borders for many times. He also has experience as a photojournalist. He worked for Johnson & Johnson in China for 8 years, performing front-line sales to sales executives, involving the pharmaceutical market in many fields such as general medicine, specialized medicine, biological medicine and oncology medicine. Later he entered the field of IVD and started his own business, creating Microdot Bio, a well-known company leading the global microfluidic technology. He assisted the company in financing more than 400 million yuan and expanded its domestic market turnover from zero to 140 million. Free-spirited, he founded the first baseball education company in the country, and served as the CEO of YouBang Sports and the principal of the Runners Baseball International School. He has travelled around the world, has experience in study tours, participated in the "Innovative Management" overseas practice project of the University of the Arts London, and was a special lecturer at the School of Health Management and Education, Renmin University.
Yu Qin, Ph.D, CSO
Yu received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from Nanjing University and a PhD degree in chemistry from Auburn University in the United States. She worked as an associate professor in the Department of Chemistry at Nanjing University, and a research expert at the University of Michigan. Yu has been engaged in basic research and development and application of sensing materials, nitric oxide controlled-release materials and generation technology for many years, and has achieved international cutting-edge achievement in medical diagnostic testing and new medical equipment. She has applied for 14 patents and 9 patents have been authorized, and published more than 70 papers in mainstream international journals.. In 2006, she was awarded "Outstanding Talents of the New Century by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China", completed three projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Science Foundation, and participated in main projects of the Fund, major instruments, and 973 projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Guanzhou Qin, CFO
Guanzhou obtained his bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of International Business and Economics, and MBA degree from National School of Development of Peking University, and holds the CPA certificate. He worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, then served as the finance executive of Fortune 500 companies including Motorola, Johnson & Johnson, , and high-tech companies such as TripAdvisor. Guanzhou recently left Tencent where he supported three business units as the chief finance. With morethan 20 years of experience in cross-industry financial management , capital markets strategic planning, Guanzhou joins Novlead as the CFO to lead strategic development and financial activities.
Yufeng Wu, COO
Yufeng obtained his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in psychology from Shaanxi Normal University, and EMBA degree from School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University, and certified as a national senior human resource manager, and the master tutor in applied psychology. He has rich work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry, once served as the government officer of the Talent Center of Shaanxi Provincial Personnel Department. He then moved to global top 500 multinational company Johnson & Johnson Group, public listed company Goodwill Pharmaceuticals, domestic well-known private enterprises (Jemincare) and other outstanding enterprises and institutions, responsible for strategy, operations, organization, human resources, branding, public relations, culture and other important functional issues. He has solid theoretical foundation and rich practical experience in strategy implementation, organizational change and capacity building, talent planning and motivation, corporate brand enhancement and culture shaping, and management empowerment of entrepreneurial projects.
Shengxue Wang, Director of Strategic Development Department
Shengxue obtained her bachelor’s degrees of Economics and Applied Mathematics from the University of Minnesota,Twin Cities and master’s degree of Statistics from Columbia University, and qualified as the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a professional lawyer in China. She once worked in Perella Weinberg for M&A transactions, AIG Group for strategic advisory and operating performance analysis, and then in many public-listed medical companies such as Kanghong Pharmaceutical and Yuwell Medical for strategic planning, investment and financing, and global BD business development. She has been responsible for many large-scale international M&A, licensing and financing transactions, as well as post-investment management and the operation management of branches and subsidiaries. She focuses on the medical technology strategy, industry development and capital activities and has been selected as one of the 2021 China Zhongguancun U30 Young Entrepreneurs.
Mark Meyerhoff, Ph.D
Professor of the Department of Chemistry, University of Michigan, an internationally renowned analytical and chemist, one of the earliest researchers to study the properties and applications of nitric oxide, invented a number of nitric oxide controlled-release materials and next generation technology with granted patents and publish. He has published nearly 400 papers and served as a consultant for many well-known medical device companies, such as Wolfen, Abbott, Dow Chemical, etc.
Liming Wang, Ph.D
Wang Liming is a professor at Institute of Life Sciences of Zhejiang University and also a neurobiologist focusing on the neurobiological principles and the pathogenesis of related diseases of body energy and nutrient metabolism.He graduated from Peking University with a bachelor's degree and obtained his doctoral degree from California Institute of Technology. After returning to China, he was awarded to the national "Thousand Talent Program for Young Outstanding Scientists" and "Thousand Talents Program" of Zhejiang Province. Because of his achievements in science and science popularization, he has successively won the "Outstanding Youth Scholar" by Hongkong Qiushi Scientific and Technological Foundation, "Xingyun Awards for Global Chinese Science Fiction" and "Wu Ta-You Science Popularization Award".
Maoyong Fu, Ph.D
Fu Maoyong, General Manager at JAMA Diagnostics (US), with 18+ years research and industry experiences in life science and technology. Fu received his PhD degree from China Agricultural University and then continued his post-doctoral fellowship in UCLA and Stanford University respectively. Before becoming General Manager at JAMA Diagnostics, Fu accumulated rich knowledge in molecular diagnostic field through his professional experiences in Quest Diagnostics and GE Healthcare.
Ying Yang, Ph.D
Ying received a B.S. degree in Biology from Peking University with a double major in Economics, and a Ph.D in Neuroscience from Duke University as well as a MSc in Statistics. After her training as a Walter and Idun Berry Postdoctoral Fellow in Bioengineering at Stanford University, she joined the US office of Beijing Institute of Collaborative Innovation and was later promoted to Director of Venture Technology. During her 5 years there, she developed and managed six biomedical projects, assisting in technology and product development and technology transfer in the areas of cardiology, pneumology, gastroenterology, metabolism, immunology, dermatology, and oncology. Ying later worked as a scientist in a biotech startup, assisting in managing its existing pipelines as well as developing new pipelines.
Yi Liu, Ph.D
Liu Yi, research scientist at UCLA. Liu is a well-respected scholar in immunology and molecular pathology. He pursued his doctorate degree at Case Western Reserve University and then devoted himself in postdoctoral research in the lab of Professor Alexander Hoffmann, the world-leading immunologist. Many of his papers have been published in top international academic journals such as "Journal of Immunology", "Blood" and "Journal of Cell Sciences". He received the scientist award from American Association of Immunologists in 2011.
